The Bank’s Visa, verve and MasterCard also accepted on Paypal
LAGOS- June30, 2014 – Union Bank of Nigeria Plc today announced that its card offerings – Visa, MasterCard and Verve – are now accepted on the PayPal platform.
PayPal is an international e-commerce platform that facilitates online payments and money transfers to over 190 countries. It is one of the fastest and safest ways of paying and getting paid online. The platform, also allows users send money and make payments without sharing financial information, now includes the flexibility to pay using any of the Union Bank Cards.
Commenting on this, Mr. Fatai Baruwa, Head of e-Business, Union Bank stated “As the world becomes a global village, better connected through the web, the volume of our customers’ online transactions both locally and internationally is steadily increasing. We are delighted that PayPal has extended its services to Nigeria and all our customers can now enjoy this added benefit with their Union Bank cards.”
To use PapPal, Union Bank customers can log on to www.paypal.com/ng/webapps/mpp/home , click on “Sign Up” and then follow the simple steps on the screen to create an account which links their Union Bank Card to the newly created PayPal account.
The Union Bank MasterCard is accepted worldwide and can be used to pay for goods and services at 32.7million merchant locations worldwide. The Union Bank Visa Card, issued in both Naira and US Dollars is also accepted worldwide while the Union Bank Verve card, issued in Naira, is the first and only chip card accepted on all available payment channels in Nigeria.
Union Bank is currently upgrading its use of technology by rolling out of the Bank of the Futurebranches, which will rely on technology and innovation to simplify the banking experience for customers. The bank is doubling its ATM footprint and enhancing its mobile banking platforms.
